Coming to college, I knew that there was so much ahead of me. It felt like the first chapter where my life was truly starting, I knew that there were countless people, experiences, and places I would see. Yet despite my big dreams that were much larger than my small town, I never could have imagined what my life would be like 3 years later with the two lane roads of that town in the rearview.

Coming back from New York after such an incredible trip networking, learning, and exploring the city and the industry I couldn’t help but reflect. Tomorrow I start my first internship in Atlanta, a step forward into my career and I have to look back. From the frightened, skittish freshman who clung to her roommate because that was the only person she knew to now preparing for her first internship going into her senior year. College has been marked with many tears, even more laughs, test anxiety, and late night desert runs with girls I cannot imagine not having in my life.

The people here have changed me, they have made me more confident and capable and supplied me with memories I will cherish for a lifetime. I have started my own small business, worked countless hours to learn, collaborated with teams and coworkers, traveled to France and attended the world’s largest advertising festival and now just returned from New York City after touring some of the city’s top agencies. None of these things would have been possible without the people who have made college feel like home, who have helped me find myself, and continually inspire me to work harder every day.

So as I reminisce on where I have been and hold excitement for where I am going next, I know that the world is wide and I am ready to make my mark on it.

-With Love, Emily
